This page explains how to delete your account in Readigo: Learn to Read Aloud, published by Maksym Shevchuk. Deleting your Readigo account permanently removes the account and the data tied to it. This can’t be undone.
1.Delete in the app (fastest)
This works on iPhone, iPad and Android.
- Open Readigo and tap Parent Mode (the people icon at the top of the main screen). The app first shows a quick parent check.
- Open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm with Delete.
Shortcut: the gear icon next to the people icon also opens Settings.
If your child has their own phone linked to your family with a code, that phone has no Delete Account button. To delete its account, open Parent Mode → Family on your phone and unlink it: the account created with the code is deleted along with its reading progress.
Do this before you delete your own account. Deleting your account doesn’t delete the account on your child’s phone, so unlink every child phone first. If you’ve already deleted your account, email support@readigo.app with the name on your child’s profile and roughly when you linked the phone, and we’ll delete your child’s account.
2.Ask us by email
If you can’t open the app or would rather ask by email, write to support@readigo.app from the email address you sign in with (your Google or Apple account), with the subject “Delete my account”.
If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, you can’t send email from that hidden address. Write from any address instead and include the email shown at the top of Settings in the app. If you can’t open the app, tell us the name on your child’s profile and roughly when you signed up, so we can find the account.
We delete the account and its data within 30 days and confirm by email.
3.What is deleted
- Your sign-in account
- Your child’s profile and preferences: name, age, reading level and settings
- Reading progress: books, achievements, Sparks and statistics
- The leaderboard entry (it leaves the public leaderboard within a few hours)
- Family link membership and invites
- Referral, promo, prize and trial records
- Any files stored for the account
We don’t keep voice recordings. Each one is deleted from our storage right after it is analysed (Privacy Policy, section 3.3). For the analysis, the recording is sent to ElevenLabs for transcription and the transcript to OpenAI for scoring. Each processes the data under its own terms; OpenAI may keep requests for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before deleting them (Privacy Policy, section 5). A recording that was uploaded but never analysed is deleted automatically within about two days.
4.What is not deleted
- Your subscription. Apple or Google bills it, so deleting the account does not cancel it. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings (help from Apple and Google Play).
- Purchase records held by Apple or Google. Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases.
- What we keep for a limited time (Privacy Policy, section 7): backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle of no more than 90 days; subscription receipts are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law (currently up to 7 years), then deleted or fully anonymised; support emails are kept for up to 24 months from the last message.
- Pseudonymous data held by our providers. Our analytics, attribution and subscription providers (Mixpanel, Google Firebase including Crashlytics, AppsFlyer and Apphud; Privacy Policy, section 5) hold pseudonymous usage, crash and subscription data. It is keyed to a random account ID rather than your name or email, and stays with each provider until that provider’s own retention period ends. Our server logs, which can also contain this ID, are kept for 30 days.
5.Privacy Policy and Terms
How we handle your family’s data is set out in our Privacy Policy. The rules for using Readigo are in our Terms of Service.
