Short answer
Find Igo's Pumpkins is Readigo's Halloween 2026 challenge, in the app until November 1, 2026. Until then, ten Pumpkins are hidden on ten screens. A new story, Igo's Pumpkin Party, is in the Library: four short episodes for beginning readers ages 6–9. Until the deadline, a child with Readigo Premium who finds all ten Pumpkins and reads all four episodes in one language can be entered in a prize draw by a parent or guardian. Three winners each get a US$25 Amazon or eBay gift card, or a local gift card of similar value. Entries close on November 1, 2026, at 12:00 noon UTC. Readigo, an iOS reading app for kids ages 6–12, added the challenge in version 1.5.1 for iPhone and iPad.
Ten Pumpkins on ten screens
In the story, Igo carved ten Pumpkins for his party. Until November 1, 2026, at 12:00 UTC, they're hiding on ten screens of the app, one on each: Home, the Library, the manga Library, Badges, Igo's World, Igo's Lair, Dragon Treasures, the Leaderboard, the Igo's Pumpkin Party sheet in the Library, and the celebration after a finished story. While the hunt runs, a tap collects a Pumpkin, and the Halloween card on Home keeps count. If your child gets stuck, tapping an empty slot on the card shows a hint that names the screen. Each account gets one of three or four spots on every screen, so a friend's screenshot may well point to the wrong place. Anyone signed in to Readigo on an iPhone or iPad can look for them until the deadline. Without Premium, a child can find nine of the ten. The tenth waits on the celebration screen after a finished story, and stories need Premium: every book in Readigo has been behind the paywall since version 1.4.0. From October 22 until November 1, 2026, Readigo's App Store page shows the hunt as an in-app event, Igo's Pumpkin Hunt.
Igo's Pumpkin Party: a Halloween story for ages 6–9
The reading half of the challenge is a new Season called Igo's Pumpkin Party. It has four episodes of seven sentences each, written for beginning readers ages 6–9. Igo wears a knitted pumpkin hat, and his friends Bat, Cat and Little Ghost are in it too. The first episode opens with "Igo the little dragon is getting ready for a pumpkin party." By the next morning all ten Pumpkins are gone, Cat is sure Bat took them, and over four episodes the friends work out what really happened. We'll leave the ending to your child. The Season is in English, Ukrainian, Spanish, Polish, French and German. There is no Norwegian or Italian version. Your child reads each sentence aloud, and Igo listens and scores it, the same as with every other book in the app. Speech recognition tuned for children's voices grades accuracy, fluency, pace and clarity, using phonics rules from the Science of Reading, and the words your child stumbled on are marked.
A Halloween reading activity for kids 6–9
If you want a small Halloween reading routine, the Season splits into four evenings, one episode a night. Seven sentences is short enough for a beginning reader to finish in one go, and to read twice if they want. - Before each episode, ask who your child thinks took the Pumpkins. A guess gives them a reason to read to the end. - After the episode, ask them to tell it back in their own words. - If an episode came out choppy, read it again the next day. The second read is often smoother. For how much reading aloud kids need at each age, see how many minutes a day kids should read aloud.
How to enter the prize draw
1. Find all ten Pumpkins. 2. Read all four episodes of Igo's Pumpkin Party in the same language. 3. A parent or guardian taps "Enter the prize draw" on the Halloween card, passes the parent check and confirms the entry. The draw is open to Readigo Premium accounts until November 1, 2026, at 12:00 noon UTC, and the entry has to be made on an iPhone or iPad. Each account can enter once. Everyone who enters keeps Igo's pumpkin hat in the app, whether they win or not.

The rules in short
This is a summary. Where it differs from the full rules in the app, the rules in the app apply. - Readigo runs the draw. Apple is not a sponsor and is not involved in it, and Amazon and eBay are not sponsors either. - A child can enter if their Readigo account has Readigo Premium and the entry is made on an iPhone or iPad. A parent or guardian confirms it. Each account can enter once, and Readigo team accounts can't win. - The draw opened the day the Halloween update came out in the App Store and closes on November 1, 2026, at 12:00 noon UTC (7 a.m. Eastern, 4 a.m. Pacific). Entries after that don't count. - On November 1, 2026, after entries close, three winners are picked at random from all valid entries. Every entry has the same chance. - Each winner gets a US$25 Amazon or eBay gift card, or a local gift card of similar value. There is no cash alternative, and a prize can't be transferred or exchanged. - If your child wins, we tell you in the app and, where we can, by push notification and email. From that day, a parent or guardian has 14 days to send us contact details in the app. Before we send a prize, we check that the entry met the rules. If the details don't arrive in time, or the entry didn't meet the rules, we draw another winner. - Readigo may disqualify entries that try to get around the rules, such as entries from extra accounts made to enter more than once. If fraud, a technical failure or anything else stops the draw from running fairly, Readigo may change or cancel it. - Section 3.11 of our Privacy Policy covers what the draw stores and when we delete it. - The draw is void where the law doesn't allow it. To read the full rules in the app, tap "Prize draw rules" on the invitation that opens once on Home, or tap "Read the full rules" on the entry screen. The entry screen appears once your child has found all ten Pumpkins and read the whole Season.
After November 1
Entries close at 12:00 noon UTC on November 1, 2026, so Halloween night itself is part of the hunt in every time zone. The three winners are picked at random that day, after entries close, and each one hears about it in the app. The Pumpkins and the Halloween decorations leave the app at the deadline (November 1, 2026, 12:00 UTC). Igo's Pumpkin Party stays in the Library, so with Premium your child can read it again whenever they like, and everyone who entered keeps Igo's pumpkin hat. Until the deadline, everything in the challenge runs from the Halloween card on Home: the Pumpkin count, the hints, the Season and the entry button.
