Readigo for teachers
What Readigo is
How we describe it to families:
Readigo is an iOS app for kids ages 6–12. It listens while a child reads aloud and scores the reading in real time.
It is made for reading practice at home.
Before you recommend it
- Each family subscribes on its own iPhone or iPad, monthly or yearly. The App Store shows the price for the family's country.
- There is no school plan: no class or teacher dashboard, no teacher accounts and no school access codes.
- One subscription covers the family. A parent signs in with an Apple or Google account and links up to three children's iPhones or iPads with a code shown in the app, so the child doesn't need an Apple or Google account. A second parent can join and follow the reading too.
How to recommend it to families
Print a note for families: two half-page notes per sheet, ready to cut, each with a QR code that opens Readigo in the App Store. The button is on these pages:
- Kindergarten sight words
- Grade 1 sight words
- Grade 2 sight words
- Grade 3 sight words
- Grade 4 sight words
- Grade 5 sight words
- One-minute fluency check
You can also show families this QR code, at a parent meeting for example.

School iPads
Readigo is in Apple School Manager like any App Store app, so it can be installed on school iPads. But Apple doesn't allow in-app purchases in apps assigned to a device, and Managed Apple Accounts, the accounts students sign in with on Shared iPad, can't buy anything in the App Store.
Reading in Readigo needs a subscription, and a school iPad set up this way can't take one out. Readigo is made for home, on the family's own iPhone or iPad.
